This course equips Massachusetts PreK–5 educators with the instructional practices, curriculum knowledge, and pedagogical skills to implement High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) in mathematics. Grounded in the Massachusetts 2017 Mathematics Curriculum Framework and DESE's CURATE reviews, participants learn to internalize lessons, facilitate productive mathematical discourse, and use formative assessment to drive instruction.

Apply the Massachusetts Mathematics Curriculum Framework's standards for mathematical practice to PreK–5 lesson design.
Internalize HQIM lessons using DESE's lesson internalization protocol to deliver rigorous, coherent instruction.
Facilitate productive mathematical discourse that builds conceptual understanding and procedural fluency.
Use formative assessment data to identify student misconceptions and adjust instruction in real time.
Evaluate curriculum materials against DESE's CURATE criteria and support school-wide HQIM implementation.
