This course equips Massachusetts PreK–5 educators, reading specialists, and interventionists with the knowledge and tools to identify reading difficulties early and deliver targeted, evidence-based intervention within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. Grounded in the Massachusetts Dyslexia Guidelines and the Mass Literacy Guide, this course connects screening, progress monitoring, and tiered intervention to real classroom practice.

Explain the MTSS framework and apply it to literacy intervention planning across Tiers 1, 2, and 3.
Use Massachusetts-approved universal screeners and progress monitoring tools to identify students at risk and track growth.
Design and deliver targeted small-group literacy interventions aligned to the Massachusetts Dyslexia Guidelines.
Apply the Mass Literacy Guide's guidance for multilingual learners to intervention planning and progress monitoring.
Collaborate with colleagues, families, and specialists to build school-wide early literacy systems aligned to DESE requirements.
